Our History
It’s always a good idea to know the company with whom
you are thinking of doing business. Knowing a company’s
history and reputation can help make clients feel
confident that they are choosing the right people for
the job. The following is our story.
Nature-Scape is owned and operated by Paul Gucwa. Paul
is a graduate of both Henry Ford Community College and
the University of Michigan. During his years in school,
Paul worked in the City Planning Department
updating city plat maps. After graduating, he worked as
a designer for two years with an engineering firm. Due
to company cut backs, Paul received a lay off notice.
As a result of this lay off in 1984, Paul started
Nature-Scape. He soon discovered a passion for working
with plants, rocks, and trees to create beautiful,
natural landscapes. Paul’s unique style and design
creativity revealed themselves in transformed yards in
the area. Most notably, numerous customers received
landscaping recognition awards from various city
beautification committees. The awards and recognition
along with satisfied customers only further solidified
Nature-Scape’s strong reputation. Gradually,
Nature-Scape became a small family business serving
Dearborn and its surrounding cities. Paul operates the
business along with the help of his wife Kim and their
three sons.
Business Practices
Through our 27 years of experiences, we discovered
effective business methods that benefit both the
customers and ourselves:

Listen to the customer
Every project we do offers unique challenges. By
being attentive to the customer’s needs and
concerns, we are able to offer design ideas that fit
budgets and provide desired results.

One job at a time
Once we start a project, we work on that job until it is
completed. Many contractors start two or three jobs
at the same time. This approach causes each
individual job to drag on and produces unhappy
customers.

Owner Operated
From the beginning to the end of the project, you will deal
directly with Paul, the owner, who does most of the
work himself. His high standards and attention to
detail leave customers pleased and satisfied.

Limited sub-contractors
Except for the occasional use of a tree service to help us
prepare a site,
all worked performed on your job is done by
Nature-Scape. This gives us greater control of
scheduling and assures that the work gets done to
our specifications.

Follow up Service
We know that the most important aspect of business success is
keeping customers happy. Sometimes, issues arise
after a completed job so we offer warranties on all
our work and are proud to say that we honor them.
